ADOPTION
You are excited at the prospect of adding a puppy to your family! Congratulations! Dogs are a valuable addition to the family and can provide great joy, love and affection to the people of the family.
Making sure you are ready for a puppy is important Equally as important is making sure that you're ready for a dog. Puppies grow quickly and like a child need to learn how to behave, what the family routine is, and what the expectations are. Puppies are netorius for getting into mischief. Not because they're misbehaving but becuase they're exploring and having fun. Bored dogs get into more mischief than stimulated, supervised and active dogs.
Your St. Dane is going to be a large dog! You can anticipate between 110-200 pounds. Buddy, our male is 220 pounds and Prancer is about 110 pounds. Having a giant dog breed is different than having a smaller breed. The most obvious reason is when they are goofing around, playing, they knock stuff over, knock over children and things can get broken easily. They don't know they're big and they don't mean to do it. Many giant breeds end up being rehomed because of this type of scenario. We don't want our puppies to ever need to be rehomed! It's traumatic for them because they become very attached and loyal to their people. It's heart-breaking for them to have to leave one family and become part of a new one!
???Questions to ask yourself???
TIME, SPACE, MONEY...
Do you have the time for a dog? They need a lot of attention, especially while in the puppy stages so they learn what their rules and boundaries are.
Can you afford to have your dog visiting the Vet? Annual shots and spay/neutering?
Food: What will you feed your giant dog? Prepared food or raw? Can you afford to maintain his/her food without sacrificing in quality that they require as they grow their large bones.
These are all good questions to ask yourself. We want you to be happy with your choice and your choice needs to be informed.
While Danes and St. Bernards don't require you to live in the country (Dane's are known to be awesome apartment dogs), your home needs to have the room inside to allow them to manuver around, especially during play. If you are concerned about things breaking or baby furniture being tipped over, re-think whether a giant dog is the breed for you.

ADOPTION FEES
Our primary concern is to find appropriate homes for the puppies. We are interested in reasonable offers of serious future giant dog owners.
We will consider each and every offer and want to explore with you whether you are ready for a giant breed. Of course, we want our St. Dane Puppies finding loving, awesome families to move to!
Asking: $550.00 although reasonable offers will be considered!
Deposit for any offer: $200
Pick of the litter: on a first come, first served basis, following our approval of your home.
Vet Check: Between 6 and 8 weeks, the puppies will visit our Vet to be vacinated and dewormed, and checked for health. If you would prefer your own Vet to do this, then we are fine with that and will take the $50 off the adoption fee outstanding.
Spay/Neuter: This is up to you but of course we encourage you to register for the spay/neuter clinic in your area or arrange with your Vet to have your dog spayed or neutered, unless you plan on breeding. Unwanted pregnancies tax our community shelter systems.
What will we do?
Raise your puppy with great care for Prancer and her babies
Prancer is up to date on all her vaccinations and is healthy
The puppies are being raised in a family of seven people. Our children are young adults and have taken a keen interest in helping with the puppies. The puppies will enjoy lots of play and stimulation as they grow and mature.
You can have a memory stick of all the photos taken while your puppy was with us, growing and being cared for. We only ask for $20 to cover the cost of this.
Our family business is our sewing/art studio. You can purchase a blanket embroidered with your puppy's name on it and date/time of birth in a similar colour to the ribbon he/she wore when little, we make toys. You could bring home The Ulitmate Dog Pull Toy so your puppy has something to chew and play with!
